The quintessential, most traveled and most documented of all the Camino routes.
Running from the eastern side of the Pyrennes at Saint Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela in the Northwest of Spain, the French Way is the Camino par excellence. It is the most famous route to Santiago and the most walked.
Our 8 day trip from Sarria will take you through fairy tale like forests, quaint Galician hamlets, open countryside and historical towns to end at Plaza Obradorio in front of the spectacular Cathedral of Santiago in the medieval city of Santiago de Compostala, a distance of 115km. It is the perfect option for novice Camino walkers as it is the best signposted route and has a great range of services (cafes, restaurants etc) along the trail. It is also recommended for those looking to meet other pilgrims and enjoy the social aspect of the Camino. Daily distances are an average of 19km.
As part of this trip you’ll find featured 7 nights in high quality 2 and 3 star Hotels/Boutique Guesthouses with breakfasts and luggage transport between accommodation. Around-the-clock emergency assistance is also included which adds confidence to the detailed walking route notes that cover landmarks, distances and things to see over the course of your walk.
Alongside the sense of achievement for all walkers and numerous chances to taste the local Galician food, this walking trip entitles you to receive the pilgrim’s certificate of completion or ‘Compostela’.
